In what proved to be the game of the year for the Blue team, they defeated LCDS in the last seconds 32-31. The Chiefs started out hot, going on an early 8-0 run. LCDS gained their composure and outscored the Chiefs 26-6 in last 8:30 minutes of the 1st half. LCDS 26-14 at the half. LCDS brought full court pressure that the Chiefs broke consistently. Playing smart basketball and demonstrating patience on offense. It was the defensive halftime adjustment that worked for the Chiefs. Zach Buettner and Justin Virts provided the pressure on the LCDS top two players. After scoring 19 of the 26 points in the 1st half for the Eagles, Buettner shut down his opponent to no points in the 2nd half. Likewise for Virts, holding his opposition to just 2 points (opponent had 7 points in 1st half). All of the defense stepped up and played beautifully. Holding LCDS to just 5 points in the 2nd half. It was clutch free throw shooting down the stretch as Brant Bell put the Chiefs up to stay sinking both of his with 35 seconds remaining. The Chiefs were 4-6 in the game. Offensively, Brant Bell led the way with 14 points. Chris Clark added 7 points. Justin Virts chipped in 4 points. Jonathan Crowley had 3 points. with 2 points apiece were Josh Blake and Ryan Dorsch.
